As part of the celebration of International Girls in ICT Day 2022, under the theme “Access and Safety” the Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority (TPRA) organized a distinguished training course on designing mobile applications dedicated to community services. This initiative marked an important step in enhancing girls’ skills in the digital field and its practical applications, enabling them to contribute effectively to the digital transformation of society.
Scratch Programming Course in Collaboration with STEM Sudan
As part of the activities, the TPRA, in collaboration with STEM Sudan, launched a specialized training course on Scratch programming. The training focused on empowering girls to develop innovative programming projects using Scratch, helping them explore their technical potential and critical thinking skills. This course offered girls a golden opportunity to learn the basics of programming in a fun and practical way, boosting their confidence in their abilities.
Details of the Mobile Application Design Course
The course aimed to empower girls to design and develop innovative mobile applications addressing community services, thereby enhancing their active role in the digital environment and using technology to solve societal issues. The course covered essential topics in mobile application design, starting from ideation and planning to implementation and practical application. Additionally, it highlighted the importance of digital security and protecting personal data during the use of applications, which is a fundamental aspect of digital education in today’s world.
The course targeted 30 girls from diverse educational and social backgrounds, with the objective of broadening the scope of its impact and encouraging diversity among the beneficiaries of this initiative.
