44th meeting of the Permanent Arab Postal Committee

The Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority participated in the 44th meeting of the Permanent Arab Postal Committee and its associated working groups.

The meeting was attended by the heads of postal administrations from 18 Arab countries, a representative of the Director General of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), Mr. Hashim Al-Haj, the Minister Plenipotentiary Khaled Wali, Director of the Department of Communications and Information Technology Development at the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, and the Regional Advisor for the UPU responsible for the Arab region, held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.

The meeting addressed key topics, including opening the doors of the UPU to active stakeholders, the integrated product plan, and the importance of evaluating its impact on Arab countries. It also discussed mechanisms to support Arab postal administrations in facing challenges imposed by advanced technologies and explored ways to turn these challenges into opportunities for developing the Arab postal sector.

It is worth noting that the meetings of the Permanent Arab Postal Committee are a sub-committee of the Council of Arab Ministers of Communications and Information Technology. Preparatory meetings of its working groups preceded the committee’s current session.
