The event was organized under the auspices of the Pan African Postal Union (PAPU) and took place under the theme: “Emerging Trends in the Postal Industry and Regulation in the Digital Era.”

The conference featured discussions led by experts from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and regulatory officials from African postal authorities. Discussions focused on three key areas:

1. The impact of digitalization on traditional postal services and the emergence of value-added services.

2. The technical, legal, and regulatory challenges associated with the digitization of postal services.

3. Regulatory techniques and enforcement mechanisms to ensure compliance and efficiency in the digital postal sector.

Sudan’s Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority views its participation in this conference as a significant step toward enhancing international cooperation in postal regulation. The event provided an opportunity to explore global best practices in postal service digitalization and stay updated on the latest technological advancements in the sector. Furthermore, the discussions and collaborations at the conference are expected to contribute to the development of effective regulatory strategies among African postal regulators, ultimately fostering a more resilient and future-ready postal ecosystem across the continent.
