The Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority (TPRA) celebrates the International Girls in ICT Day, held annually in April, to promote the role of girls in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), in alignment with and under the direct support of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) through its global initiative, Girls in ICT.

This event reflects the Authority’s belief in the importance of investing in the future of girls and its commitment to empowering them with the digital and knowledge-based tools necessary to excel in the rapidly evolving digital job market.

During the celebration, a series of training courses and practical workshops were held, covering key areas such as:

  • Fundamentals of Programming Languages
  • Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Its Applications
  • Mobile Application Development
  • Web Design and User Experience

The programs saw the participation of school and university students, as well as girls from rural communities, highlighting TPRA’s commitment to expanding access and ensuring equal opportunities in digital education.

Through this initiative, TPRA affirms its dedication to:

  • Supporting digital empowerment for girls and enhancing their presence in technological sectors.
  • Promoting digital equality and building an inclusive knowledge society.
  • Upholding the recommendations of the ITU and aligning with international strategies that advocate for greater female participation in digital transformation.

As TPRA continues its efforts, it remains committed to launching more initiatives that contribute to building a sustainable and inclusive digital society, where girls are key partners in innovation and progress.
