Generation Connect Program – International Telecommunication Union (ITU)

The Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority (TPRA) announced today the launch of an intensive training program dedicated to girls in the “Al-Affad” area of Ad-Dabbah locality, Northern State. This initiative comes as part of the celebrations for the International Girls in ICT Day.

​The first day of the program, organized and supervised by the Authority, witnessed great turnout and remarkable enthusiasm from the participants. Activities commenced with an introductory ice-breaking session, followed by the distribution of all technical supplies necessary for the designated tracks: Visual Programming using Scratch and Basics of Graphic Design.

​TPRA officials emphasized that the course aims to bridge the digital divide and empower girls in various regions by providing them with modern technological tools. The training team assigned by the Authority expressed high readiness to begin the practical sessions, praising the high morale and strong desire to learn demonstrated by the girls since the early hours of the camp’s launch.

​It is worth noting that this training program is part of a series of initiatives led by the Authority to enhance digital transformation and build national capacities. The training camp is scheduled to continue until the 20th of April, ensuring that participants acquire essential skills in programming logic and visual creativity.
