World Post Day under the theme:

“Post for People: A Local Service, a Global Reach”

The Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority held a forum today in celebration of World Post Day, attended by the Director of the Sudanese Company for Postal Services (Sudapost), representatives of companies operating in the sector, as well as representatives from DHL, Aramex, Aro Company, and the Civil Aviation Authority.

In his speech during the celebration, Dr. Counselor Elsadig Gamaledeen Elsadig, the Director General of the Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority, welcomed the distinguished attendees, affirming that this year’s theme, “Post for People: A Local Service, a Global Reach,” reflects the historical and pioneering role that the post has played in connecting communities, enabling communication, and facilitating the exchange of knowledge throughout the ages.

He pointed out that celebrating World Post Day this year comes at an exceptional time for Sudan, as everyone is working to rebuild what has been destroyed by war and to restore the vitality of national institutions. He emphasized that the postal sector has now become an integrated platform, contributing to the delivery of government services through its nationwide postal network, implementing digital transformation projects, promoting e-commerce, and creating new job opportunities for young people.

He further stressed that the companies operating in the sector will serve as strategic partners in the journey of reconstruction and digital transformation, helping to build a more resilient and modern national economy.

He concluded by reaffirming that the Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority attaches great importance to the development of the postal sector through the updating of legislation and regulatory frameworks, in line with modern advancements, to ensure the continuity of innovation and sustainable growth in this field.
