World Post Day

In a significant step to enhance the role of the postal sector in the country, the Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority organized a gathering of key stakeholders in the sector to commemorate World Post Day. The event saw broad participation from representatives of companies and relevant entities.

The meeting aimed to reinforce the role of the Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority in regulating and developing the sector, raising awareness about services offered by licensed companies, and encouraging companies to continue providing services despite challenges.

The event was attended by 49 participants, including 14 attending in person and 35 virtually. Among the attendees were representatives from customs operators (Sudapost, DHL, and Aramex), as well as employees of the authority.

The event opened with a speech by the Director-General of the Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority, who emphasized the importance of the authority’s role in supporting companies, praising their efforts to continue delivering postal services during exceptional circumstances. Additionally, a recorded speech by the Director-General of the Universal Postal Union was presented, commending the organization of the event and the support for companies during challenging times.

The gathering featured active discussions on the challenges facing companies, resulting in an agreement to hold monthly meetings to exchange opinions and ideas among all stakeholders.

During the event, the participating companies were honored with appreciation plaques in recognition of their ongoing efforts to deliver postal services and facilitate communication among citizens.

The event concluded with a consensus among all parties on the necessity of strengthening cooperation and coordination among all stakeholders to support the postal sector, ensuring its sustainability and growth in a way that serves the nation and its citizens.
