Generation Connect Program – International Telecommunication Union (ITU)

​The Generation Connect Young Envoys (GCYE) are young leaders nominated by Member States and selected by the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau. They serve as a global volunteer network aimed at enhancing youth participation in digital transformation by supporting ICT initiatives at national, regional, and international levels. They bridge local needs with global priorities, transforming them into community initiatives that support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Their contributions reflect their personal views rather than official positions, as they play a vital role in building an inclusive and sustainable digital future focused on youth empowerment and innovation.

​In line with promoting youth participation in international forums and leveraging the opportunities provided by the ITU Generation Connect Program (2026–2030), the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Communications and the Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority (TPRA) are pleased to invite applications for the Generation Connect Program. This program offers young people the chance to attend significant events that shape the future of ICT, organized by the ITU according to specific criteria.

Eligibility Criteria for Nomination:

  1. Must be a Sudanese national.
  2. ​Must be a volunteer (non-government employee).
  3. ​Must have a proven interest or experience in telecommunications or digital transformation.
  4. ​Must demonstrate capabilities in innovation or relevant community initiatives.
  5. ​Commitment to volunteer work and community engagement.
  6. ​Must be between 18 and 24 years old.
  7. ​Educational background: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Social Sciences, Humanities, or Law.
  8. ​Applicants from diverse educational, social, and economic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
  9. ​Applicants must provide evidence of active participation within the last 24 months in at least one of the following areas:
  • ​Participation in youth-led or youth-focused initiatives.
  • ​Leadership or participation in digital inclusion projects or ICT-related projects.
  • ​Involvement in education, skills development, research, or technical ICT activities.
  • ​Entrepreneurship or innovation in digital or technology-related fields.
  • ​Active participation in ICT initiatives at the local community level.
