Third and Final African Preparatory Meeting for the World Telecommunication Development Conference 2025 and Workshop on the Universal Service Fund

Sudan participated in the third and final African Preparatory Meeting for the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-25), held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, from 25 to 29 August 2025. This conference is considered one of the most important ITU platforms for developing countries, serving as a forum to present their aspirations and unify regional positions.
During the meeting, Sudan presented a new proposal focused on supporting the reconstruction of telecommunications infrastructure damaged by the war. The proposal was adopted as part of the African contributions and received strong support from member states. In addition, the Sudanese delegation actively contributed with amendments and comments on several resolutions, which were subsequently approved.
In a significant achievement for Sudan, Eng. Noora Abdallah was selected as Vice-Chair of the African Group within the Third Committee on Objectives of the WTDC-25.
